The Tea Drinking Writer
As a writer, I am always looking for the simple pleasures in life that compliment my desire to sit in front of a computer for hours at a time. Making myself a cup of tea has become one of them. For the longest time, I detested tea, and refused to try any, but now, I can't see myself not drinking it. Sure I still like the occasional cup of coffee; it's just not the same as patiently waiting for your tea to reach the perfect taste potency.
My new found love of tea began a couple months ago when I was put on furlough from my job at a casino. This was a new experience for me, because I have never had to deal with the effects of a pandemic and didn't really know what to do at first. It was weird. It was "You still have a job, but we can no longer afford to pay you for the time being." So I now had time on my hands to figure out what to do to keep myself busy.
Partially inspired by several ads on Facebook, I decided to go to the store and look for flavors of tea that I though I might enjoy. From there I experimented with water temperature and steeping times to find the perfect combination that I found the most pleasing. Ever since, I try to have a cup of tea a day, sometimes 2 on the weekend.
